This last sentence really resonated with me:

"I am grateful that he wrote to Nathaniel, that Nathaniel saved the letter, and that I was led to find it among a treasure trove of writings well over a century later."

Me, too! This is a story that obviously WANTS to be told.Catherine Toddhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16106773955427187343noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25689245.post-20502273015077038482012-07-23T21:06:42.004-07:002012-07-23T21:06:42.004-07:00It's pretty interesting. One person who was born then might still be alive today. Hard to imagine all the changes that have taken place since then. It's practically unbelievable, if I didn't see it with my own eyes.

Technology has changed everything, and so swiftly! It's good to read about "way back when" when it really wasn't so long ago. And how much have we humans really changed, in all this time?Catherine Toddhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16106773955427187343noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25689245.post-85351273004749587852012-07-23T20:40:46.400-07:002012-07-23T20:40:46.400-07:00What a fascinating tale, and what beautiful handwr...What a fascinating tale, and what beautiful handwriting! Wish I could write like that. I only type now, and handwriting isn't even taught in the schools anymore. Wish at least good drafting / printing was.

Can't wait to read more and more of this wonderful story. How fantastic, and it's your relatives in much of it, I believe!Catherine Toddhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16106773955427187343noreply@blogger.com
